On 29th July 2008,we went on a learning journey to singapore polytechnic. After the lecture,we've learnt that there are other sources that we can use to replace the burning of fossil fuel which will run out in about 42years time. One of the alternative source is the solar power!I've learnt that solar energy can be used to power appliances and its many other uses of the solar energy.I've also learnt that photovoltaic cells can convert the light energy from the sun to electrical energy, which is later used to power appliances.Saving energy is also very important. The lecture was great as it provides many useful information about the alternative sources.Solar energy will not harm the environment like the fossil fuels will when burnt. The trip was an eye opener for me.Other than the lecture,I have also seen how the solar energy is being used in Singapore Polytechnic!peijun (15) 2o8.

we learn about how the invention of solar power was from,
and saw many solar panels in singapore polytechic.
it was a fun and interesting trip as we learn the importance of solar power and how it can help the environment and save electricity at the same time.
singapore has definitely used solar panels to collect solar energy to generate the people's daily needs,
for example, electronic devices like handphone, computers, vacuum cleaner, etc.
it has definitely play an important role in singapore to make it a far more convenient and help face problems that has connection to high usage of electricity.
it helps the poor and needy, so that they don't have to spend so much money to lead their daily lives. this has solved many problems face all around the world other than singapore,
and we can be sure it will continue for a long time as solar power will never run out as it comes from the sun.

after the presentation in the lecture hall, we went up to the rooftop to their
own solar energy farm.the sign just before we went out to the rooftop
the solar panels
more solar panels

these are also some type of solar panels in their school's floor
this is the panel
The last two pictures are also pictures of
solar panels, but are on the school's floor, they are quite
small, about 10cm by 10cm.
When we were at the lecture hall, the presentation was about
how important electricity is, but was mostly about
solar power and the
things we could make with solar power.
we can't do a lot of things in modern times without electricity. even the most
basic things like transportation and cooking need electricity too. Without electricity, there will be a lot of inconvenience caused.
Oil and other natural resources will
soon be used up, therefore,
solar energy is important especially in Singapore because Singapore have sunny days almost for the whole year round. And the energy we had collected can be
converted into electricity for us to use so that we would not have so much inconvenience when all the natural resources are used up.

We went to Singapore Poly on 29th July 2008, Tuesday.
We went there to learn more about
solar power!
We attend the lecture, and we also got to see solar panels!

In Singapore Poly

The Presentation that the teacher there made for us.

please zoom in to have a clearer view on the slides.

electricity is very important to us.
without electricity, there would be many things that we
can't do, and there would be many inconvinience.
There are many ways to convert into electricity.
One of the ways is by using
solar power.
It is much cheaper and very convinient as there would always be the sun shining.

In conclusion, solar power is very important to us.
it would be extremely important for us in the future and oil and fuels are slowly finishing already.
After the lecture, we went to see the
solar panels
The solar panels.

the solar panels helped in collection the solar power from the sun.

This is a light found from the ground in Singapore Poly.
The panels beside it are used for collecting the sun rays from the sun.
